Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Sonari iOS app, the Sonari API and this website (together, the Service). Using the Service means you agree to them.

What Sonari is

Sonari tells you when artists you follow release something new, lets you play it through your own connected Spotify or Apple Music account, can add it to a playlist for you automatically, and shows you what the people you follow are listening to.

Accounts

Register with accurate information and look after your credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to use Sonari.

Connected services

Playback, library and playlist features require you to authorise Sonari to act on your behalf with Spotify or Apple Music, and your use of those services through Sonari is also subject to their own terms.

Sonari is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Spotify, Apple, or MusicBrainz. Release, artist and recording metadata comes from MusicBrainz’s open data under its licence; artwork may come from the Cover Art Archive. Album artwork and artist names shown on this website are the property of their respective rights holders and are used to illustrate what the product does, not to imply that anyone endorses it. If you hold rights in something shown here, tell us and we will remove it.

Sonari Pro

Pro is an optional paid subscription - monthly or annual - that unlocks auto-add routing across multiple playlists, and sharper recommendations. It is billed and managed entirely through your respective App Store: it renews until you cancel, which you can do through the application.

Using it reasonably

Do not misuse the API, including scraping it from outside the app. Do not post abusive, harassing or infringing content in comments and reactions. Do not try to get around rate limits, authentication, or moderation. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms, and you can block or report another user, which we review.

What you post

Comments and reactions you post stay yours. Posting them gives us the licence we need to show them to other people inside the Service, in the places the feature intends - an activity feed, a comment thread - and nowhere else.

The waitlist

Giving us your email address on this website asks us to email you once, when Sonari launches. It is not an account, it does not reserve anything, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Account deletion

You can delete your account whenever you want. We may suspend or close accounts that break our terms or the law.

What we cannot promise

The Service is provided as it is, without warranties. We do not guarantee that it will always be available, that every release will be detected the moment it appears, or that Spotify, Apple Music or MusicBrainz will stay available and accurate - much of what Sonari does depends on services we do not run.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Sonari is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised version.
